There are many amazing places to eat in Breckenridge for fine dinning. While everyone thinks Main Street Breck is where all the best fine dinning experiences are, just off the beaten path lies one of the absolute best meals in Summit County, The Breckenridge Distillery.
Legendary cocktails, a beautiful distillery warehouse, and getting a little tipsy may devour the mind immediately when the words Breckenridge Distillery are uttered. The food is on par, if not exceeding everywhere in Breckenridge. With unique, fresh, and incredible cuisine that is somehow both classic and outside-the-box. The culinary journey is spectacular and is a must hit for any local or visitor.
Part of what makes the restaurant so fabulous is the staff. Whether you are greeted with a smile by Mikala their hostess, or a perfectly mixed cocktail from Griff, or served and inundated with dad jokes by Terese, or Robbie whipping up culinary delights, you will feel like a friend. All of the employees believe in this company and it shows in their approach to dining. An incredible team that only adds to the deliciousness.
Alright, what really matters, the food.
Breckenridge Distillery Appetizers
Please note, these have updated since I visited and everything is amazing~
Maple Pepper Bacon looks like something that a hipster caveman would kill for. It may seem like a stretch at $18, but is absolutely phenomenal and will not disappoint. One would never think lemon and bacon, trust me, it is a must!
The Angry Octopus. is the best appetizer in Breckenridge, huge statement. Crispy calamari, chorizo, basil, are you kidding me? Flawlessly fried calamari steak, with more fried calamri, olives, and chorizo, the “perfect bite” is absolutely amazing.
Brussels Sprouts. I am a sucker for sprouts. Many places do Brussels Sprouts ok. They are fine. Not here, they are exceptional. Bacon (but like think bacon steroids), apples, hazelnuts, and some yummy Breck Bourbon sauce. Watched a vegetarian joyfully put down a few of these bacon soaked beauties.
Hipster Fries. upscale, delicious fries topped with
Other yummies, Deviled eggs with prosciutto or caviar, bring it.
Breckenridge Distillery Entrees
While I haven’t tried many entrees, just from watching everything come out of the kitchen, recommendations are not difficult.
Crusted Tuna: Nori-wrapped soba noodles, baby bok choy, sesame vinaigrette. Finding good seafood at 10,000 feet can be, well challenging. However, the tuna was fresh, perfectly seared, and paired mindfully. The crust is unique but give the dish a nice texture, and it is beautiful.
Grilled Pork Chop: Corn pudding, root veg, maple-bourbon demi. Didn’t get to order this one (yet), but I nearly snagged it off the plate as Sean delivered to his table and the took the pork chop away to be my wife… too far? Regardless, it looked incredible.
Truthfully, everything looked phenomenal. The steaks are prime-cut dinosaur-sized-deliciousness. The mushroom cavatelli is also incredible. Get a salad you won’t be disappointed with winter beet salad.
The dessert menu had some classics on it like Crème Brulee. Some clever and whimsical twists on classics like cheesecake pops. But the drunken donuts seemed like my jam.
The distillery has been around for awhile now, and while there may have been some growing pains years ago, they are now incredibly dialed in.
